After installing Mac OSX Lion, I experienced problems with my Kodak ESP7 All-in-One printer. Although printing worked okay, the scanner did not. It was unreliable and essentially non-functional with the printer’s front panel controls.
Fortunately, Kodak issued an update to their driver software on 8/4/11 that fixed the problem. It’s a free download from this page:

Hmmm… I just tried it with Preview. It printed front and back without any problem. Maybe it’s an application-specific problem. What app are you trying to print from?
